As soon as travel restrictions opened up, Aaron hit the road and took a ferry to Vancouver Island!<\/p>\n

Aaron visited Alberni Brewing Company<\/a>, a new brewery that recently opened up in Port Alberni, where he sat down with co-owner Heather Welsh.<\/p>\n

Founded by Heather and Jason Welsh in partnership with Yvan St. Onge, a local chef, Alberni Brewing<\/a> features spacious seating, a fireplace, an outdoor patio, and a full kitchen serving a wide range of delicious dishes alongside tasty beers. Head Brewer Jason Welsh brings years of homebrewing experience and passion to the beer lineup, which includes core standards alongside rotating seasonals.<\/p>\n

A few things Aaron learned:<\/p>\n

  1. Alberni Brewing opened just four days before full COVID restrictions were initiated in the province.<\/li>\n
  2. The brewery also features a full kitchen with an excellent menu.<\/li>\n
  3. Heather is originally from Wales, but met her husband who is originally from Port Alberni, while overseas.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
