This long ride through gorgeous scenery on the Saanich Peninsula will give you a good workout \u2014<\/span> along with some ideal “hydration stops” at local breweries.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve always enjoyed cycling, but I\u2019ve definitely taken it up a notch in recent years, both because of the exercise and stress relief the activity provides for me and also because I\u2019ve been trying to use my car as rarely as possible to cut down on carbon emissions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Every year, I look forward to the Tour de Victoria<\/a>, which usually takes place in August. I\u2019ve been doing it for several years now \u2014 I started off with the entry-level 45km route which ran from Sidney to downtown Victoria, and then graduated to the 60km loop before making the jump to the 100km level, which definitely was a big challenge. Best of all there is always a beer garden serving Spinnakers<\/a> K\u00f6lsch at the finish line!<\/span><\/p>\n
